President Marcos Reviews eGovPH Serbisyo Hub During Cebu Visit

Uncategorized

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr has inspected the eGovPH Serbisyo Hub in Mandaue City as part of his visit to Cebu, underscoring the government’s efforts to make public services faster and more accessible. The five-storey facility operates as a one-stop centre for multiple agencies and forms part of the Philippines’ wider digital government agenda. Officials say the hub is designed to reduce queues, simplify processes, and curb the use of intermediaries in government transactions.

Inspection of a one-stop government service centre

The President toured the eGovPH Serbisyo Hub in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, where citizens can access services from several national government agencies in a single location. The visit concluded his series of official activities across Bogo City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and Cebu City.

The hub functions as a physical extension of the eGovPH App, allowing users to book appointments and upload required documents before arriving on site. This approach aligns with broader efforts by local governments to modernise service delivery, as seen in initiatives highlighted in the Philippines’ LGUs driving digital migration.

Agencies and services available at the hub

Several national agencies maintain service desks at the Mandaue hub, enabling residents to complete multiple transactions during a single visit. Participating offices include the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Health, and the Philippine Statistics Authority, alongside the Social Security System, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and the Department of Labor and Employment.

According to officials, consolidating these services in one venue helps streamline workflows and reduces waiting times. It also supports the government’s aim to minimise the presence of fixers by making procedures clearer and more transparent for the public.

Part of a wider digital government strategy

The inspection reflects the administration’s continuing focus on digital transformation across the public sector. National agencies, including the Department of Information and Communications Technology, have been working to strengthen digital skills and leadership within government, as outlined in efforts to build digital leadership in the public sector.

During the visit, the President was accompanied by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez, and PCO Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro. Local officials, including Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro, Mandaue Representative Emmarie “Lolypop” Quano-Dizon, and Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes Ouano, were also present.

Volunteers from the non-government organisation Marcos Pa Rin welcomed the delegation and continue to support activities linked to the hub, including assistance programmes connected to the distribution and sale of rice. More details of the inspection were reported by the Philippine Information Agency.
